Cheesemelters/Salamanders



Description

  Smaller versions of the upright overfired broiler, salamanders and cheesemelters heat downward utilizing infrared technology.
  Compact in size and feature a front-loading, horizontal cooking cavity.



Function(s)

  Both cheesemelters and salamanders can perform similar functions.
  Cheesemelters primarily used to heat plated food, melt toppings, toast breads, keep serving dishes warm, heat pastries, and finish cook certain foods.
  Salamanders originally created as small space, low-production meat broilers, but can perform functions similar to a cheesemelter.

Application(s)

  Ideal where space is limited or broiling needs are minimal.
  Handy for final heating, reheating or finish cooking when multiple orders of several different food types are prepared.
  Can also serve as an auxiliary unit for broiling meats or seafood.
